I disagree, this demonstrates that Rush's lawyers are correct in the accusation that this is a case of selective prosecution. This is a big deal.

Rush directed his listeners today to go to The Drudge Report to read what was happening. Then he received several e-mails stating that they had no Internet contact and could not read it. Rush then told what had happened with this judge and also said "It's a sad story", or something to that effect. Rush did not dwell upon the story, but my take was that Krischner was after Rush personally because Rush is a righty. Looking bad for Krischner.

Re your post No. 65. It's true, but Rush has no problem. I firmly believe the American people will rescue him, if he needs rescuing. Rush is a hero!

This is cute, but Drudge is making a bit more out of it than it actually appears to be.

A judge who is not involved in this case whatsoever, but happens to reside in the same jurisdiction is a pill popper. Yes, there is hypocrisy in his treatment, vis a vis Rush. However, when clicking on the headline, I was thinking that the Judge who is in charge of this case was the one guilty of oxy abuse. That would have been an entirely different animal all together.

Oh, but this is entirely relevant, because it demonstrates that there is indeed a dual standard involved. When it's a public figure that they'd like to take down any which way they can, they throw the book at him, but when it's one of their own, they close rank to protect him, and take great efforts to look the other way.

That's not what this country is supposed to be about.

This sort of BS makes a mockery of the law, and makes a mockery of due process. It turns the judicial branch into little more than a well-dressed kangaroo court. If you "count", you can do as you please, with little penalty. If you don't "count", then watch your step, bow down before the effendi, and prepare to take it up the rear if you step an inch out of line.

That's banana republic "justice".

It's also rampant. The homosexual "marriages" being performed around the country, by "public servants" who thumb their noses at the law -- with impunity -- confirm that the system is indeed broken. The only remaining question is whether or not it's beyond repair.

I honestly don't know the answer to that question, but each day's further inaction against the rebels who become increasingly emboldened in their contempt for the law bring us that much closer to a Western version of the collapse of the Soviet Union. We're rotting from the inside, and no one seems to really care about it. At least, no one charged with protecting us from that sort of decay seem to care enough about it to do anything about it.

This kind of arbitrary application of the law occurs repeatedly It was prevelent in the division of the New York State agency I worked for. Individuals were disciplined depending on who you knew, what your job was, how well you were liked by the administration, etc. Unfortunately, nothing was ever done about it since lowly employees had no recourse to show the discrimination.

I know of a judge whose "problem" with cocaine was an open secret within both government, and the public -- the only exception was the "free press", which ignored it completely.

When he was arrested, the records were quashed, and he remained on the bench. When he decided to run for state appeals court, the county government was delighted beyond comprehension at the thought of finally getting rid of him. Of course, when he won the election (the good people of the state not knowing of his "issues")), their gain was the state's loss.

He still sits on the appeals court bench, sitting in judgement of his betters.

There is something about a lawyer in a robe that has a nearly pathological effect on his ego and sensibilities.

Oh dear, did I say "nearly"?

If I was running the show, first order of business would be to order every judge to hand in his robes for donation to the local rag recycling center, so that some good use could come of them. If he's not willing to sit on the bench wearing a suit and tie like everyone else, well, then maybe he should just go out and work for a living.
