Let me just correct the drivel from the Boston Globe.
A whiney liberal traitor refused a meaningless award because a Republican told the truth.
Good, just thought I would shorten it up for you.

Page should be HONORED that this pro-Kennedyite rascal stayed away.
He's probably one of those idiots who who elect an ass to office if it's name was Kennedy (and I think he did).

In the 1800s, we had no teacher of the year...America simply depended on teachers to do their job. Its rather sad in today's environment...we have fallen into this national pit of teachers. I would rather have my son with a simple school house teacher of the 1880s in Nebraska...than 90 percent of the jokers who teach today.

What they should do next year is have the spelling bee champ,(always a homeschooler), and his/her mom to the WH.

How odd that a teacher would refuse to attend an event because Paige told the truth....

This "teacher" just taught his students the most influential lessons to date. He's taught them how to be ungracious, unforgiving, and immature. And he used a single personal example to do all this.

He sure showed us.
That'll teach the Bush administration not to mess with pubic school teachers. I'm still trying to figure out the down side of this report. What's the problem?
Can anyone explain?

That means we are not covered in case a parent decides to bring a case against us, Your school doesn't cover you for liability? huh?

He's a hard core liberal. Here's a link to a speech he gave that was published by a left-wing Episcopal group A Globe of Witnesses:

And here's what the speech was about:
The following address was delivered at Reading Memorial High School in Reading, Massachusetts on December 11, 2001 during "Team Harmony" an assembly organized to encourage unity and to combat racism and hatred.
Kumba-frickin'-ya.

My wife was in the staff room when the Local Union head was addressing teachers. Apparently there was some whining about the "terrorist" comment.
My wife told them that Paige was "simply confused, the NEA is communist."
They weren't amused

Ryan, 49, said his refusal to attend the conference also was a protest of the 2002 No Child Left Behind Act, which he called a "stealth tactic by the Bush administration to undermine public schools."There is nothing stealthy about testing, but he's right that any glimmer of accountability will tend to undermine public schools.

There is no down side.
This pipsqueek thinks he is so important that his abscence will reverberate through the halls of power and make that mean Bush administration see the error of their ways.
We're not laughing with you ,we're laughing at you.

As a federal employee, working overseas, we would be relieved of our duty and all our files confiscated for an investigation. We might/might not be reinstated. Since we didn't join the union, they would feel no responsiblilty for our situation. It states that we are to be defended, just as if we were, but they could be "too busy with other things". I don't like where the money goes, since our teachers' union is part of the NEA. If we could guarantee that our money didn't go to certain organizations, I'd not have as much problem, as the union has done some good stuff for us here.
