Isn't little to no government and the ability to carry guns and be answerable to no one exactly what they have been advocating? And isn't the alternative an eventual military dictatorship?

Yep, that's why we are living in a military dictatorship right now. We have had a centralized Government since 1789, have required our people to be responsible to others, and have had some form of laws about gun use since the beginning. And after 215 years all of our freedoms are gone and we are not the most powerful, wealthiest, and liberated country in the world.
We are a repressed people fleeing to countries like Haiti where they have absolute freedom from government and laws.
