Oh, is that so? That's not what I see. What in the movie suggests that Jesus Christ is the Son of God? What in the movie suggests any hint of redemption for sin through the sufferings that are so clearly depicted? Nothing, so far as I can tell. It's a pornography of violence, aimed at people who desperately want their faith confirmed through the softest and most degraded medium ever devised, at the hands of a man whose modus operandus is raw violence in whatever form he can best display it. And the really neat thing (for Gibson) is that he gets the money of people who would rather not participate, but feel they must in order to participate in the discussion. He's a huckster, pure and simple; P.T. Barnum without the family values. Bill Clinton has nothing on him. And the rabid Christian set will stick up for him, even at the cost of distancing themselves from honest and wise men like Krauthammer, because they think that by so doing they're hoarding up brownie points in heaven.
So you have seen the film?
Ayup
I found this on a blog site. It's written by a Catholic named Elinor Dashwood. It makes a lot of sense when she says: "He's famous! He's gorgeous! He's rich! What these star-struck types don't so commonly acknowledge is that He's a schismatic! One serious Catholic after another has succumbed to shivery gratification because Somebody Totally Cool is willing to admit to being a Catholic. "
But actually Gibson is not a Catholic he's part of a schismatic sect.
