What a great comment "I wonder what kind of discussions we'd be having today".

I think it depends. If it was Mel making the OT movie, no matter how faithful to the Torah, he would be utterly screamed at. How dare a non-Jew make a movie about faithless OT Jews!! It would be so much worse than the heck he's already caught.

But, say Zanuck or Pollack made an OT film....well, first, you must wonder would it be faithful? Hollywood Jews who make movies - these folks most definitely worship their mothers that's for certain.

Almost all 'chick flicks' have that theme .... woman rescuing boy from boyhood and facilitating the birth of 'da man'. What hollywood movie was greenlighted where a mother gives way to the priest, and says, Ok, here's my son, God - Mr. Priest, anoint him faithfully".

Where are the archtype Hannah flicks?? Nope ... Zanuck (Forest Gump), Pollack (Sabrina), H. Weinstein (Shakespere in Love) ... they would not dare even think it .... talk about a potential hit to future cash flow!!

Talk about nailing to the cross the bow-down-to-the-woman religion culture we have in this country today ....; nope, patriarchy is, in the backwards world of the leftist, moral anarchy, and he won't stand for it, while SHE applauds and says in a soothing voice, 'good boy'!!!!!

And yes indeed, the unending cycle of falling away, the prohpets, falling away, the judges, falling away, the kings, falling away, Ezra, etc, etc, etc. The OT does indeed have a neverending Hemingway found 'life' giving.....what an irony.

Sadly ... these faithful OT flicks won't get made by our leftist godless Bel Air moguls. No use in wondering about that fantasy that will never appear.
