I remember this was debated heavily 20 or 30 years ago, with the fire-hosers winning the theoretical tactics battle. I'm inclined to think the ME bad guys are more like out military shooters of 60 years ago. I see them in the vidio clips standing fast in the face of sprayfire aiming their AK's carefully. Chesty (I think) was quoted as being at his ease in the face of enemy full-auto fire cuz he knew they wouldn't hit him.
