George Carlin delivered a monologue titled, "I Am a Bad American." The essay includes these statements:
"I believe the money I make belongs to me and my family, not some mid-level governmental functionary who wants to give it away to crack addicts squirting out babies.... I believe it's called the Boy Scouts for a reason.... I believe that if you're selling me a Big Mac, you'd better be doing it in English."
George Carlin?! Sounds more like something Rush Limbaugh would say, but the actual author appears to be a guy calling himself "bootyist-monk" on FreeRepublic.com, a conservative Web site. It was originally titled, "I'm Your Worst Nightmare, Because I'm a Bad Republican."

Researching that urban legend is what brought me to FreeRepublic. I figure if people can write and think like that here, that's where I want to be!

Didn't that mid-level government functionary have a bad comb-over before?

False: http://www.snopes.com/language/document/carlin.htm
From your link:
This essay appeared in the FreeRepublic.com on-line forum back in September 2000 under the title "I Am a Bad Republican" (picking up title changes and additions since then as it was forwarded around the Internet), and the person who posted it there has taken credit for it in a recent message in that same forum.
What is false?
To: george wythe
[George Carlin quotes Freeper] Your title doesn't reflect the content in this article.
According to the piece, quotes falsely attributed to George Carlin at Free Republic were invented by a Freeper.

George Carlin delivered a monologue titled, "I Am a Bad American." Or Ted Nugent.

"George Carlin uses essay written by Freeper without giving him attribution" was too long for the title window.
To: george wythe
Note to self: Don't read so fast.

To: george wythe
I'm suprised I could find it, and glad I did. Credit where credit is due, interesting us lowly Freepers have more advanced investigative skills than 'seasoned', degreed, journalists. Of course, we are the VRWC, to be overlooked....
To: george wythe
Except there is no evidence George Carlin ever used it at all.

Maybe not Carlin but I'll bet Dennis Miller could do this justice. It sounds remarkably like one of his rants. Hey, wait a mo ... bootyist-monk = Miller????
