Not only is there a bio-plastic coating, but the plant pollen/pieces found in the Shroud are from the Middle-East & two of them are indigenous only to Israel.

The coating was explained in a documentary too. Seems a preservative was put on by some "well meaning" team. So sorry "theDentist". But people in the "know", know the facts. I just don't have a photographic memory. Sorry!
