My husband and I also heard the loud noise of a jet flying low tonight -we had one of those WTF moments. The last time something like this happened he ran out quickly and saw three Sabre jets from a vintage plane airshow-cool No mistaking the sound of a sabre. We live in Long Beach.

We heard this too and rushed out to look, but either we missed it or clouds obscured the view. A week ago, the Stealth flew over so we thought it might be another one somehow. Also in Long Beach, very close to the airport. Since we hear planes all the time, the fighters do sound distinct.
