Are you suggesting that the federal or state governments will pass on the savings to consumers and taxpayers if the High Speed Rail System is adopted?No. Investment in improved transportation infrastructure provides public benefit through economic stimulus and expanded commerce. Not by "passing along savings".
In other words, we will pay for both highways AND boondoggles.
