Two 11-year-old boys whose bodies were found in a snowy field on an American Indian reservation died after consuming massive amounts of liquor, the sheriff investigating the case said Tuesday. One boy had a blood-alcohol level more than six times the legal threshold for drunken driving.

Choices

I've had choices
Since the day that I was born
There were voices
That told me right from wrong
If I had listened
No I wouldn't be here today
Living and dying
With the choices I made

I was tempted
By an early age I found
I liked drinkin'
Oh, and I never turned it down
There were loved ones
But I turned them all away
Now I'm living and dying
With the choices I made

I guess I'm payin'
For the things that I have done
If I could go back
Oh, Lord knows I'd run
But I'm still losin'
This game of life I play
Living and dying
With the choices I made

Living and dying
With the choices I made

This story doesn't do much to discredit stereotypes.

Stereotypes just don't happen. IMHO they are based mostly on truth, but carried over time to extreme, or too broad a brush, they give rise to the R word. The R word does not seek to solve the underlying problem, but only to mask it.

What stereotype? That Indians are avid whiskey drinkers? I've found that to be true. They also live in animal skin huts, smoke dope, fight one another with sticks and stones, and worship animals. It's tragic that these boys died, but being PC about Indians won't bring them back.

"Somebody ... has to be held accountable for this," said Lake County Sheriff Bill Barron, clearly shaken by the deaths of Frankie Sonneah Nicolai and Justin Benoist on the Flathead Indian Reservation in western Montana.

Somebody - like, the parents, do ya think??? Again, here we go into the victimology, blame game. Poor, poor, boys, they didn't deserve this, and so on. It takes heroic drinking, and knowledge of what to drink, to get to 0.5.

You can't blame the parents - they're too poor. You need to blame someone with a lot of money so you can sue them. I think it's Jack Daniels whose at fault. Or maybe Jim Beam (Which one had the highest revenue last year?) Lawyers are probably descending on the reservation right now and lining up to take the case.

Couldn't have happened.
It is illegal for anyone under 18-years old to consume or purchase alcohol. //sarcasm alert//

Barron said it appeared both died late Friday or early Saturday, but had not been reported missing all weekend.

The parents are to blame completely.

I happen to live on this Rez and what's even more telling is that one of the boy's 14 year old brother died in a trailer fire last November after consuming alcohol.

Nope, you can't blame the parents who were probably too stoned themselves to notice that their 11-year-old was missing for 3 days. But all cultures are equal...in fact, most of them superior to that evil white Christian culture.

Somebody ... has to be held accountable for this

Wow, that attitude scares me. Why isn't the initial response "The people responsible for this will be held accountable?"
