We have no business in that cess pool. Not under Clinton, and not under Bush either.
They want to slaughter each other from now until the end of time?
Let them.

Absolutely.....we can't help people who don't want to be helped. I say get our guys out of there and let them fight until their hearts content!

Not that I would accuse Reuters but check those "Special Forces" out. Old shots of Aristides private security maybe? (Excellent sig by the way.)

Unfortunately, I agree with you (not that agreeing with you is necessarily a negative thing!).
Then again, that philosophy is not a bad one to have with some parts of the world. How much $$, support, and other aid can you give to one of these holes before we get a clue that the natives are not capable of civil government? Thus, if they refuse to act in a civil manner, let them rot. Our pockets are not bottomless, our patience is not endless, and quite frankly, we have much more pressing issues to deal with that this cesspool.

We have to stay until the situation stablizes (a highly relative term) to counter the claims (swallowed and repeated by the black caucus and others) that that the US fomented the rebellious unrest (I wonder how?) and then kidnapped a reluctant Aristide just as he was to make a noble last stand.
