Do we smell a cave in? (Hi Brian!) JMO, maybe caving into the reality of the low carb movement.
Both items a person gets supersized, coke and fries, are no-nos in low carb diets.

Does this mean they'll bring back the lard for the fries?

That's to bad. A super-sized #2 meal is great if you need to quickly feed two people on a budget. (One burger for you, one burger for me, and SuperSized fries & coke between the both of us!)

Yeah...I guess they've been convinced that we poor consumers can't think for ourselves and have to have someone hold our hand throughout our lifes.
Or....maybe my "guess I'll have to order two large fries from now on" could be part of it...how much more money would that be for McDonald's if everyone started doubling up to get past no more super size rules.

Beef tallow. It made the fries the best in the business.
But I always supersize the fries. Whatever shall I do?

"Whatever shall I do?" Just do what the people with the "glandular problems" do. Just drive around ordering from 5 or 6 places then park behind the Piggly Wiggly by the dumpstars and eat it all.

The hamburger giant has started phasing out its trademark Supersize fries and drinks in its U.S. restaurants as part of an effort to simplify its menu and give customers choices that support "a balanced lifestyle," a company spokesman said Tuesday.
Note to company spokesman: How does removing a choice from a list of items give someone a choice?

These guys are going to PC themselves into bankruptcy. Don't bet on it...they didn't say anything about phasing out super-sized prices - just portions.
