When does the house take up this bill?
I called my Senators and voiced strong opposition to final passage. Perhaps it will be killed decisively in the Senate this way. If it passes with the amendments attached, then the conference committee could remove the amendments and report back a clean version to both the house and Senate. Based on past history, I think it's more likely that they will leave one or more amendment in and "compromise."
Whatever comes out of the conference committee has to be voted on with no amendments by both the House and the Senate.
