Anyone like Flandern who still is ranting about the Cydonia "face" after the high res pics came out is a kook by any definition.

Personally I believe they will eventually locate microorganisms on it's surface or below the surface.

I concur.

The article itself seems typical of kook-moron NASA science bashing, and I wouldn't take anything it states about NASA "ignoring" stuff very seriously; kooks like to set up evil strawmen they can nobly oppose.

When the moon or an asteroid hit Mars the shock wave was so big, it blew the atmosphere right off Mars. With no atmospheric pressure to keep things from boiling, H2O and any other liquids vaporized and were lost in space...at least that's what I heard from some guy...

Stay tuned for more developments....

Jezzz, out of 200 freaking channels, I couldn't find one covering it. Just 200 channels of meaningless crap.

"Got thirteen 200 channels of sh** on the TV to choose from."

I assume Mars has a hot core similar to the earth.

It is believed that Mars has a dense core about 1600 km in radius, a rocky molten core, and they believe it's core is possibly denser than our own Earth's core.

Atmosphere? With half the crust missing from Mars we're worried about the atmosphere? At least for earth we have an idea where the missing crust went.

Go to the address above, then check out images 23 and 25. The symetry in #47 blows my mind. All these neat little triangles of the same height and width and set at the same angles. You can print it out, set a ruler against one of the triangles then run it across the page at the same angle. Every one is the same.

The one salient issue here is that there is some very very interesting and important science here.
On the other hand, Pres. Bush gets another home-run.

"It is believed that Mars has a dense core about 1600 km in radius, a rocky molten core, and they believe it's core is possibly denser than our own Earth's core."

Mars may indeed have a rocky molten core, but with no current geothermal activity at the surface and very low average surface temperatures, that suggests to me that any current subsurface water would be frozen for a considerable depth.

with no current geothermal activity at the surface

They don't know that. They are looking for hot springs and geysers from orbit--starting now.
