Smells like psy-ops to me. First, how would the JP find out about this? Second, why would they print it since it puts the news staff in direct danger of Iran? Third, if true, wouldn't the JP face serious criminal charges? If I'm not mistaken, Israel does not have the same liberalness of the Freedom of the Press as we do.

My first reaction is that this is BS. If it were true, OBL would have been in the bag a long time ago. Or maybe... Nah.

Seymour Hersh is wrong more often than he's right, plus he has a left-wing agenda. I'd just as soon believe DEBKA.

That is obviously an incomplete sentence. Let me correct it. "We've got to show that we're cooperating and get the Europeans and DEMOCRATS on our side."

A secret Israeli intelligence unit, known as Unit 8200, broke a sophisticated Iranian code... I gather it's not exactly a secret anymore. How nice of the New York Post to reveal secret operations upon which the security of the civilized world depends.
To: Alouette
It would be a news story if the codebreakers from Israel - and the U.S. - hadn't broken Iranian codes.
If this was leaked it was for the purpose of letting the Iranians know that Israel knows precisely how far they've gone and a warning not to cross the line to produce a weapon.

FYI.

I thought freepers would be more sophisticated and not fall for this ridiculous piece of propaganda. If Israel had actually broken Iran's code, do you think they would be so stupid as to make this fact public knowledge and destroy their ability to continue to receive further intelligence in the future? This is just public relations to gather up support for when Israel decides it needs to take out Iran's nuclear operations, or to put pressure on its allies to deal with this problem
