Black conservative ping

If you want on (or off) of my black conservative ping list, please let me know via FREEPmail. (And no, you don't have to be black to be on the list!)

Extra warning: this is a high-volume ping list.

Black conservatives are invisible to the public. The rat media won't even acknowledge you exist.

" That is and alway has been a Leftist lie perpetuated by their media lapdogs."

What are your sources for that claim other than that you have been saying it for years?

Do you really think anybody will do an honest poll? I mean a real cross section of Black Americans? I KNOW because even in the 70's when voting rights were still being fought in some places, Black people were splitting their votes, just like white Americans have been doing.

Did anyone see the segment on NBC news last night about how educated, middle and upper-middle class blacks feel disaffected and disengaged from the whole political scene? I was actually impressed NBC did this and chose what I would consider average Black people: an Ivy League MBA business owner, managers, and workers. None of them follow the Black Democratic line anymore, but they don't hear the Republicans talking to them either. Sounds just like how I feel, and I suspect how much of all of America feels.

This will be interesting, indeed, to see how it plays out with the blacks in the long run. Personally, I think the blacks need to demand that their voice is heard on the issue of homosexuality. Most blacks deem it abhorrent, but the white Dems who greedily gobble their votes, scoff at actually giving them any representation. The black vote is one of the most fundamental bases of the Democratic Party, yet the Dems are getting to the point where even some of them are endorsing gay marriage.

If you want to make the Dems wake up, give them less of the black vote (anybody heard of a black Nader?)

True, thank you. It refers to the slave population by implication only.

"I've been saying for years, don't believe the LIES about Black people voting Democrat 90% of the time."

I live in a predominantly white town, but for several reasons, my evangelical church attracts quite a few black parishioners. We enjoy ribbing each other over our differing worship styles, but our church has truly become a close knit sanctuary against an increasingly weird world.

Here's what I've seen of "Black Evangelicals". These couples are all married, and have exceptionally close relationships with their children. The kids respect their parents, and even the teens seem warm and forthright. They've rejected certain "feel good" churches to seek out a Bible based theology, which they actually apply to their lives. They reject abortion, sexual promiscuity, and homosexuality. They live within their means, and keep their promises when they make a church commitment.

We had a "Gospel Night" during Black History month, and several black people were brought to tears when they played a jazzy version of the national anthem. They're the first to pray for our troops and the President. They're so conservative they would put the average Freeper to shame. (In fact, they probably are Freepers. Hi guys!)

Folks that think Black=DemocRAT need to spend some time my church.

I berated an instructor in a company "diversity" program for doing this.

You better hope that doesn't go into your next performance evaluation.

"Article 1 sec 2 (in a now obsolete passage) describes how segments of the States' population would be counted for apportionment of direct taxes and for the size of the House of Representatives delegation. It is there that the ratio of three-fifths appears in connection with the slave population. The passage makes no reference to anyone's humanity."

Not only that, but, as Frederick Douglass eloquently pointed out back when the 3/5 clause was very much alive, the clause actually created an incentive for states to ban slavery, since free blacks would be counted as 1 (not as 3/5) for purposes of congressional representation even if blacks didn't have the right to vote. When Jesse Jackson says that the 3/5 clause was a sign of racism, he doesn't have a clue of what he's talking about, because the 3/5 compromise resulted from competing clauses between constitutional convention delegates from slave states and free states, with those from free states wanting slaves not to be counted for purposes of congressional apportionment while those from slave states wanting slaves to be counted as 1 (just like everyone else). That idiot Jesse doesn't understand that had the slave states had their way, there would not have been a 3/5 clause and slave states would have had even more congressional representation and influence than they would have with the 3/5 clause.

I used to think that exit polls showing blacks voting 90% Democrat were false, since in many cases blacks did not want to admit they voted for a Republican, and it does appear that there was some of that going on in Mississippi in 2000. However, after looking at precinct-level voting statistics in several cities, I have to admit that blacks in most cities cast well over 90% of their votes for Al Gore in 2000. Such voting performance is shameful, both to blacks and to the GOP, but unfortunately it is the truth. We need to make a stronger appeal to blacks' social conservatism so that, instead of them being a monolithic voting block for the RATs, their votes are "in play" enough so that we can get 30% of the black vote.

If the GOP can obtain just 30% of the black vote, it would make it virtually impossible for RATs to win statewide in any state in the South and in many states in the North, and would even give black Republicans a good chance of getting elected in black-majority districts in the South. I think a good first step would be helping Herman Cain win the GOP Senate nomination in Georgia, and then electing him in the fall. There are several other black conservatives running for the GOP nomination in races around the nation, all of whom would be helpful in getting out the message that being black is not incompatible with being a Republican. Hopefully, the gay-marriage issue will allow social conservatives of all races to coalesce around the defense of the institution of marriage.

Indeed, it may be something of a "lifestyle choice". If it wasn't then you wouldn't have blacks calling their fellow conservative or entrepreneurial success stories "uncle Toms" or "sell outs" would you? They also discriminate among one another on degrees of flesh tone. It's disturbing.

Re: Comment #53

Thank you for the information. I am dismayed at how deeply ingrained is this myth about our Constitution. Lately, I have heard it casually recited by some people who should know better.
