It's becoming very apparent, that nobody in the DNC had access to Google before they annointed Kerry- the Democrat "nominee du jour." In spite of Kerry's crappy record on every issue important to Americans and his abhorrent treatment of the military- I am convinced that Kerry does not have the physical or emotional strength to go the distance.
I fully expect some sort of physical collapse or mental decompensation before the general election, which will force him out of the race.
I don't see this as a grand scheme by the Clinton's- I think they have lost control of the process. If anything, I see Kerry as the original dream candidate of the Bush team. Dean was just a head fake and the media and the Dems bought it.
If Kerry collapses before the convention, I guess the nomination is Hillary's for the asking.
I assume that if Kerry collapses after the convention, his VP would ascend to the head of the ticket.

(If consistency is the hobgoblin of small minds, John F. Kerry’s mind must be freaking enormous. T.B.)

This is my greatest fear as well. Just the way the Dems substituted Lautenberg, instead of Torricelli, I can see them substituting Hillary for Kerry -- I think they would do this, even if it's AFTER Kerry is the nominee with a VP. Of course it's possible he will pick Hillary as his VP, making the whole thing much smoother.

Kerry is out for revenge on the military. His voting record proves it. His complete lack of constituent services to his state's military and military families proves it. (Kennedy has been far more helpful to Massachusetts military who need their Senator!) In the White House, he will be well-situated to make sure the World Court tries our soldiers for war crimes. He'll help them investigate us; he'll expose and destroy our intelligence apparatus. He believes that capitulating to terrorists will prevent more attacks. (That is a step beyond Clinton's approach of threaten-but-do-nothing.) He'll pack the Supreme Court nominees who will never get in the way of such a turnover of our self-rule.

If anything, I see Kerry as the original dream candidate of the Bush team. Dean was just a head fake and the media and the Dems bought it. I don't know if this is wishful thinking on my part, (perhaps those dems are influencing my thoughts, causing me to ascribe wondrous powers to Rove and company), but I too believe that the White House is relishing a race with Kerry.
I'm one of those who believe this White House is full of poker players - of course they have to pay lip service to the line "this election is going to be close . . . " - so as not to appear arrogant or risk having people stay home because they think it is a sure thing.
