To: Paradox
Wow, this is 1,000,000 ahead of LOTR:Return of the King. I guess the question is, what kind of staying power does it have?

So far, it's far ahead of the other movies in terms of "legs." It opened lower, but is coming on stronger than any of the rest, contrary to the predictions of the naysayers.

What's happening is that the people who were scared off by the critics are now being convinced by the people who have seen the movie to go and see it.

Has anyone heard anything about theaters doing special showings during Holy Week?

I can't think of a better time to see the movie than Good Friday.

And a lot of people who don't go to the movies very often are waiting for the crowds to die down, like me.

I know a number of people who didn't want to fight the crowds the first weekend. Some have definite plans, some already have advanced tickets.
