Bray: When you wrote, "There is no violence in the film ..." there was something about that which rang both true and false for me at the same time. If you haven't seen it, I recommend the article in this thread:

Anyone who by now does not approach seeing this movie with both anticipation and apprehension has not been listening. Indeed, I'm looking forward to my _second_ viewing with just as much apprehension.

WARDADDY: Great review in post #94!

DChick: You may wish to reconsider and go to see it yourself. It's not a "date" movie, and there really isn't a question of whether you'll inadvertantly ruin the movie by discussing any part of it with a friend. This movie ends up being a personal experience with Jesus - no one else.

We don't consider it a "date" movie, and I'm a bit insulted you would assume we do. What's wrong with wanting to experience this wonderful movie with loved ones?

"This movie ends up being a personal experience with Jesus - no one else."

So, everyone needs to view it alone? We can, still, each have our own personal experience with Jesus which, IMO, is made that much sweeter by being with those you love.

Thank you for sharing your reaction.

The theater was quiet sans sobbing and everyone left very very quietly.
I saw the film again on Sunday night in a theater filled with hundreds of "hip hop fans". The mood was "Party!" in the beginning, hoots and cheers. Wild. For the first few minutes of the movie it was "Shh!", Shhh!", "Shhhhhh!". And then silence.

When it was over, the place cleared out in a minute. Without a sound. My girlfriend and I just sat there amazed, watching them soberly but quickly file out, heads down. Truly an interesting experience.

Anyone carry stats on # of viewers.

I don't know what the cost of going to a movie is these days but I would divide the 125 mil figure by the price you paid and that would give you a fairly accurate figure. People who've seen it twice would be the error in the viewers stats.
