Wearing your allegiances above your rear bumper has never been easier in Michigan. From lighthouse lovers to farming fans, the state has a specialty license plate for you.
The 22 university and special-cause plates are a hit with motorists. But they

I guess Jennifer "The Canadian Trash" Granholm resents that the money is going directly to institutions the TAXPAYERS choose rather than into state coffers. I'm sure the pro-life plate is just another reason she's opposing more selections. I like Terry Lynn Land's solution the best, but then I've always liked her practicality.

Where is the attempt to thwart pro-life plates? Seems to me the only people who are really against this are the police.

Legislature will approve an anti-abortion license plate. Granholm has attracted criticism from fellow Catholics and from conservatives for supporting abortion rights. Granholms spokeswoman, Liz Boyd, denied the claim: This is a safety issue, not a political issue. Granholm also is expected to veto a bill that would create a plate to benefit breast cancer research.

To be honest..........it's a license plate, a government tax plaque. This is NOT a advertising space. Get a bumper sticker and quit wasting more legislative time on this junk.
