Palestinian Authority Broke and In Disarray Collapse Is 'Real Possibility'

RAMALLAH, West Bank -- Three years and five months after Palestinians began their second uprising against Israel, the Palestinian Authority is broke, politically fractured, riddled with corruption, unable to provide security for its own people and seemingly unwilling to crack down on terrorist attacks against Israel, according to Palestinian, Israeli and international officials.

The turmoil within the Palestinian Authority is fueling concern that the agency -- created almost 10 years ago to govern the West Bank and Gaza Strip -- is disintegrating and could collapse, leaving a political and security vacuum in one of the Middle East's most volatile regions, many of those officials said.

At a time when Israel is constructing a massive barrier complex through and around the West Bank and planning for the possible withdrawal of Jewish settlers from the Gaza Strip, Palestinian leaders have offered no political strategy to prevent the authority from becoming marginalized or obsolete, officials and analysts said. Prime Minister Ahmed Qureia's chief of staff, Hassan Abu Libdeh, said the collapse of the governing authority was "a real possibility" and could lead to "a lawless situation" that would play into the hands of radical Islamic groups already competing with the Palestinian Authority for power. ......................

"the Palestinian Authority is broke"

Obviously the US needs to pump in another few hundred million and ship another 5,000 M-16's to kill more Jews.

With Judenrat sharon planning Jew transfer and giving up land, the problem should be fixed in a couple years.

bush can then reward the father of modern day terrorism with his own terror-state and we will have PEACE!

There is no difference between the PA and Hamas. It does not matter who is rulling in those areas, as they are all bent on destroying Israel. We shouldn't fear the collapse of the PA, if it does happen. Terrorism will be on the same level with or without the PA around.

Meanwhile, in New York, Kookie Annan has called for the United Nations to meet and vote on a regulation that forces the United States to pay reparations to the Palis for allowing them to become broke.

Kookie, said that he is "deeply saddened, but it's for the children, doncha know". He added, "now the the evil President Bush has captured Saddam, many Pali mothers are going hungry as the funds from martyring their children are going unpaid".

Yoni, you wouldn't happen to have the figures on the last benevolent, nation building contribution Uncle Sam made to this competent, upstanding governmental organization?

Your tax dollars hard at work, people. Uh, wherever they are.

Ha! You expect nihilist Muslims to live up to a treaty? Muhammad spoke about violating treaties with the kufr (the non-Muslim) in his Koran.

Of course they are broke, the banks got raided last week. Here is a cut from another thread: A document discovered during a recent Israeli army raid on some West Bank financial institutions found payrolls being prepared for terrorists trained to commit suicide attacks – not just in Israel but in the U.S. and Europe, Joseph Farah's G2 Bulletin reports.

If we do not sent them money soon, they will not be able to pay the terrorists they sent to the US. That could be bad, then they will have to apply for welfare like most of the Saudi Agents that did 9-11.

We could save a lot of money by just bombing ourself. We are a heck of a lot more competent than hiring Arafat to do it.
