WASHINGTON, Feb. 27 (UPI) -- President Bush Friday authorized the State Department to use up to $20 million to aid Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza.
The money will come from the U.S. Emergency Refugee and Migration Assistance Fund through the U.N. Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East, department spokesman Richard Boucher said.

Welfare For Homocide Bombers. I can't believe the State Dept is sending $20 million of our taxpayer moolahs to Islamofascists on the UN welfare dole.

The executive branch continues to approve this type of aid, which replenishes the funds for terrorists. This will fill up the terror money Israel drained a few days ago in Ramallah.

How many bomb belts can you buy with 20 mil? Heck, they could get the luxury models. Deluxe padding, fashionable colors w/ matching wiring, stainless steel projectiles, the whole works.

This money is strictly in aid agency hands....I don't think this type of humanitarian assistance goes to the PA.

What one hand taketh the other hand giveth. Our State Dept seems determined to reward Palestinian extremism and terrorism. In Foggy Bottom, they apparently haven't connected the dots of Palestinian non-compliance with the road map being still born.

Infrastructure, such as housing, schools, and shops in these "refugee camps" aids terror. Housing houses the terrorists, schools teach the children to hate and kill Jews, and shops serve as explosive laboratories.
In addition, "humanitarian" aid coming from the outside, allows the PA to have a bigger cut in its budget for terror, as less needs to be spent on the infrastructure that houses and spreads terror and hate.

The Palestinians are the only people living on international welfare and they're an objective case study in why welfare handouts never make people better and in fact destroy both their character and capacity for self-reliance. Its a pity they're the one people in the world where the Bush Administration seems skittish about applying work for welfare rules to. And the results of decades of international handouts have been predictable to the point of total destructiveness.

$20 million in ammunition might not solve the Palestinian problem, but it would be a great start.

The Palestinians are a model of what socialism looks like if you try it for five decades with no end in sight.

Why can't you believe it? Aside from what we send to the suicide bombers annually, there is the 32% support of these welfare babies that we contribute through the United Nations.
Most Pali squatters are supported in a major way by welfare, from housing, to food, to monthly assistance, the majority of them are on some form of welfare.
To: MissAmericanPie
Yes... and its not really a surprise why with all this idle time on their hands, they think up and act on ever more creative ways to kill the maximum number of Jews. If you thought welfare eliminated virtue, you don't have to look further afield to see its deleterious impact upon human beings.

Welfare handouts have nothing to do with the "palestinian" problem! LOL!
The "problem" is that they are Arabs and Arabs have no concept of forming a civilization let alone a culture with the faintest concept of self government.
In their monkey brains anything beyond eating and defecating is a concept that cannot be comprehended.

I do not like twenty million dollars going to those people, since reduction in money from outside is one of the horns of their dilemma, the other being the security barrier. The two are the rock and the hard place.
On the other hand, the USA has to keep in the game, and this $20 million is what the next card costs. Got to be able to say, with a somewhat straight face, "What do you mean, we don't love the Palestinians? We just sent them twenty million dollars!"
Another reality is that Arafat is nearly out of there. The longer he stays the more demoralized the Palestinians become, so it is wise to prop Arafat up. Sharon can't do this because the attempt would backfire. Powell can get the job done, though. Powell is brilliant, so willing to be underestimated, always ready to be thought a fool (like President Bush). Watch and see, a master is at work here, and I don't mean Arafat! Those people are walking right off the cliff.

Arafat is a terrorist leader. He also heads a terrorist regime. Arafat leaving means nothing if his regime is still around. We continue to send money to Arafat and his regime, which continues to have the funds available for Islamic terrorism.
Just because everyone else is doing it, doesn't mean we should. We must stick to principle and stop this nonsense. These people were celebrating on 9/11.
The US must also remove the safety net over Arafat and his regime.
At a time the US seeks to destroy terrorist regimes, it is also supporting one, and supporting its cause for a state. This is hypocrisy.

One more try.
If Arafat is pushed out now, someone much more formidable will replace him.
The longer Arafat stays in power the more the Palestinians will see him as the main problem.
If Arafat stays in power long enough, he will be replaced by bloody but stupid, Idi Amin types, Zimbabwe types. This is desireable. The Europeans have to be grossed out, and the Chinese and Russians convinced that the Palestinians cannot be useful to them.
As far as hypocrisy goes, I see none. This is a rough game, and operates on many levels. There is no room for sentimentality. No room at all.

There is no evidence that shows this. Remember, they are being brainwashed by his regime every day.

The leadership is bent on using terrorism and does not want peace. Its institutions teach this. This is the mindset of most of the Arabs in Israel's backyard. The feeding arms of this propaganda must be destroyed and not strengthened.
As far as hypocrisy goes, I see none
I see it. On the one hand we condemn those regimes which harbor terrorists, and on the other we refuse to condemn the PA, continue to stream money to it, recognize it and allow its offices to be open in DC, and maintain a safety net over it, specifically over Arafat. In addition, even after all these years of terror murding over 1100 Israelis, we continue to foolishly believe the "Palestinians want peace" and we continue on this roadmap to "peace." Arafat is like Osama, and his organization is like Al Queda. If Osama was no longer alive, Al Queda would still be considered an enemy and not a partner for anything.
