I am reluctant to judge the actions and thoughts
of any one who has to live for 2 weeks with a man who calmly
strangled a 4 year old child.

For instance:
Supposed she ratted him out and some good lawyer
and a liberal judge let him out on bail. Where might she be then?

The authorities have probably made the right choice in choosing not to prosecute (or so far as I know...investigate) her.

However, I don't agree w/ your premise that she "had to live" with him, and I'm sort of surprised that the decision not to investigate her for accessory charges has not been criticized.
