As an attorney with a primary area of family law, I've seen the truth to this. From a purely secular point of view, pre-marital sex has so many financial consequences for our society. What we, as a society, need to do is to keep our pants zipped up until we get married, then only unzip it for the person we're married to.

And aside from the costs of having a child, which dooms the mother and the child to a life of financial struggle, we also have the sexually transmitted diseases. I believe the CDC has stated that 25% of all adults have a permanent STD - be it AIDS, warts, Herpes, etc. Think of the medical costs for treating these things. And that doesn't take into account the STDs that are treated - syphillis, gonorrhea, etc.

Then we also have the emotional consequences of having sex in a non-committed relationship, then breaking up. Hugely damaging, and baggage that is carried to the next relationship and to one's parenting.

Why it is "conservative" or "puritan" to say this is base stupidity.

Pam's very brave, and the young people are startled to hear her "original" message that they are actually valuable in the eyes of God, and can say no, and expect to be treated as they treat others...with respect.

If ever there was a need for some major class-action lawsuits against those who helped destroy so many young lives....and their unborn.

Thanks so much for the information. A video promoting chastity and the reserving of sexual activity for marriage is long overdue.

If we hadn't first been so permissive with pre-marital sex, cohabitation, and the like, we probably wouldn't have to be dealing on a large scale with homosexuality and all kinds of other sexual proclivities. When we opened the door, even slightly, to sexual expression outside of marriage, we might as well have opened the floodgates.

After reading countless threads on homosexuality, I was beginning to think that Freepers didn't care about other sexual sins. Fornication and adultery are also condemned in the Bible, and they take their toll on the individual as well as on society as a whole.

As I have mentioned before, the best way to rid society of homosexual behaviour is to return to the ban on all sexual activity outside of wedlock and allow marriage only between a man and a woman.

For one, I have added "bastard" back in my spoken vocabulary, for its actual meaning.

There is one in my distant family; I believe bastards' parents must come face to fact to the reality that they have produced a bastard, if not a killing, when man and woman are so carelessly casual.
