Springsteen torture at Camp X-Ray
01Mar04
A TERROR suspect freed from Guantanamo Bay has told of cruel and unusual punishment.
Hamed Abderrahman Ahmad, a Spaniard who denies any links with terrorism, said he had to wrap his head in a damp towel to try to muffle loud tapes of Born in the USA.
Mr Ahmad said he was confined to a small cell where the lights were always on and he was forced to listen endlessly to Bruce Springsteen.
"First I spent a month in a cell two metres square that had a roof of sheet iron, with unbearable heat," he said.
"All day they blared patriotic American music. It was Born in the USA. We had to put wet towels on our heads to be able to bear the heat and not hear the music . . .
"Later they put us in even smaller cells."

Whoa. Crazy Train, the Osbournes theme. Why hasn't he done a cover of Jim Nabors tunes.

And let's not forget that finger popping version of Stairway To Heaven. Yeah, hup.

Sorry about being away from the keyboard in the middle of the game. Yeah, David Soul captured the essence of the actor-trying-to-sing genre. At least he had the excuse of not actually being a singer. What can we say about Michael Johnson ("Bluer Than Blue") or Randy Van Wormer ("Just When I Needed You Most") or Paul Davis ("Do Right")? Any Pablo Cruise fans out there? Ozark Mountain Daredevils? Mainstays of "Don Kirchner's Rock Concert" and "Midnight Special."

This single disc is entirely cussing-filled tirades of Van Morrison in the studio. Just goes to show, there's always one more way to breach a contract.

Or anything produced by Ronco or K-Tel, perhaps?

I wonder if, technically, the military can do that, unless they have a performance license from ASCAP or BMI? Wouldn't it be funny if the RIAA complained of copyright infringement? Fair use applies here. No admission being charged, and there's no "entertainment" that enhances the aura of the establishment going on like Muzak playing in restaurants. So there's no need for a blanket ASCAP or BMI performance use license ;-).

Yeah, a couple of spins of "Incense and Peppermints" turns anyone into a drooling, docile moron. Put on a little Vanilla Fudge and Moby Grape while you're up.but they're
...meaningless sounds
Turn on, tune in
Turn your eyes around
Look at yourself, look at yourself
Yeah, yeah...
So good to hear from you Sir Speedy! I am so ashamed that I never finished that last quiz... I think I only got 2 or 3 of them anyway!
(David Soul started out as a singer...he was "The Unknown Singer" akin to the unknown comic!)

Hey hey gracex7 -- now how about their follow-up, "Sit With The Guru." Some heavy lyrics in there. Great to hear from you -- I gotta run to work, but I'll catch back up, promise. Or my name isn't Leapy Lee. ("Here they come falling out of the blue -- little arrows for me and for you".) Later gator.

Now, if they played The River over and over, I might confess to anything.

"Don't tell me Pat did Sabbath covers."Believe it or not, Pat and Ozzy were next door neighbors for quite some time.............and became fast friends. Their families grew quite close, apparently. Ozzy had a lot to do with turning Pat Boone onto metal. Strange pairing, I know, but pretty cool. To this day, Ozzy has nothing but nice things to say about the Boones.

It never ends;
And it's you girl making it spin
I'm so dizzy...."

But, but, TM4 --
I'm not talking 'bout moving in
And I don't want to change your life
But there's a warm wind blowing the stars around
And I'd really love to -- barf gag splat
