"He seems to be referring to God as "it"."
I noticed that too. Does anybody ahve a video clip of his answer? It sounds like he was debating with himself whether or not to say he beleives in god. I bet some polls flashed through his head during that moment. The reporters question and then Kerrys answer would be PERFECT for a campaign ad. Reporter says that Bush knows God is on America's side in the War on Terror. Kerry then waffles and says he doesnt htink "it" should be invoked. Then cut to president bush in a relaxed button down shirt saying that God is on our side and that we'll fight the terrorists anywhere they may be.

I believe many on the left "believe" in gaia, which is an 'it'. It would be interesting to see which deity he is referring to.
I'm glad you noticed it, too. :)
