[history]
The mall was packed and loud, but Pat Laski hardly noticed. Her governor was late, and she was not pleased. After all, he had called, in a recording, to tell her to turn up at noon at the Valley Plaza in Bakersfield for a rally.

"This article is frightening?" You shouldn't be surprised...the majority of the public has no clue of what the propositions even say much less of their consequences. Aside from FReepers, I would wager that 95% of the public hasn't even read the propositions. All they know is that a movie star-elected-governor has initiated them and that's all they need to know. And years from now when the governor is out of office and we are saddled with higher taxes and fees trying to pay off the bond, those same people will be standing in line, paying their hard earned money to see Ahnold in another one of his pictures. Is this a great country or what? LOL

Lol, at least I didn't have to write that.

I'm not surprised... just frightened. The cult-like following (of any leader) brings disturbing visions of the future. I'm just finding it harder and harder to read this type of coverage and get that "LOL" feeling, you know?.
On a side note, you have to admit that Weider taught Arnold well in the merchandising world... he released a new version of Pumping Iron so all of these folks would need to have it autographed! (as mentioned in article). Maybe next, we can sell naming rights to the State Capitol!
Thanks for the links C.O. I read some of the Education one a while back, but didn't bookmark it. I need to find more time!
