My wife came home from work the other day with a puzzled look on her face, her best friend at work told her that "Osamma had been caught and Bush was saving it for an October surprise."
I told my bride that it was a RAT attack upon president Bush, and her friend is obviously a LIB. I also told her about MOBY and their attack on our administration.
Any suggestions on how she can handle her friend without losing her friendship would be much appreciated! (BTW: Libs husband is a gbmt lawyer.)

Just tell your wife to tell her friend the truth -- that the story in question was just a rumor started by the tabloidish foreign press, and that it has no basis in reality. Why should that be a friendship breaker?

I told a lib friend nicely but firmly: George Bush is an honest man who loves this country. He wants bin Laden more than anyone, and when he's caught we will know. The capture of Saddam is evidence of how this administration works when apprehending the bad guys.
In other words, straight talking asssessment of the character of President Bush, combined with pointing to precendent.
