The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops has issued pastoral guidelines about how believers should dramatize the Passion ... almost every one of which Gibson violates. Gibson didn't use the pastoral guidelines. He used the Bible.

---Another panelist, Newsweeks Jon Meacham, added the observation that The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops has issued pastoral guidelines about how believers should dramatize the Passion ... almost every one of which Gibson violates. ---
I wonder what Meacham's views are on adherance to the Catholic churche's views on abortion, contraception and pre-marital sex?

The USCCB has begun to disgust me. They criticized this movie, when they should have celebrated it (they have since retracted their criticism).
Why is it that Catholic bishops seem to be morally blind? They seem to be confused, weak, paralyzed by contradiction. Are the staffs of the nation's dioceses so contaminated by liberalism, modernism, and dare I say heresy, that bishops fear to speak boldly and clearly about moral matters?
I am sure the Lord has a special place for weak-gutted bishops.
