Hijacking the language is just The Big Lie. They're very good at it. They've managed to redefine milquetoast RINO into "conservative" and in doing so, move the entire debate left. There aren't any republicans any more, they're all "conservatives." Anybody who is an old style conservative is now a right-wing extremist. Constitutionalists are one step away from living in an extremist "compound." It's brilliant and proves the point that the best place to hide anything is right in plain view. Conservatives and republicans have gotten rolled like drunks in the park with their own terms.

There is a Freeper (wish I could remember who) whose tag line says: 'The Constitution defines conservatism - not the GOP.'

There are two parties left in America that are honestly debating the issues of our times:

The Libertarians
http://www.lp.org

and

The Constitution Party
http://www.constitution-party.net

These are the true right and left parties of American political philsophy. Both have a fundamental respect for the constitution - something the Democrats and Republicans lack. They differ on many issues but that's fine - honest debate is necessary for a free society.

But you are correct, both are potrayed as fringe wacko groups and as things stand right now have little chance of even being competitive in national elections.
