Faxes are also an effective communicator with DC. Myself, I prefer the phone unless there is numbers that need to be relayed.

It's still a poor second to the personal contact and access the bureaucrats in the beltway have to our representatives. They are, IMHO, one of the most powerful and influential constituencies. They will use that access to take care of their own interests, and their interests are not necessarily our interests.
