Rumors abound, Osama caught.

These rumors have been around for weeks and discussed at FR. So what is different with the current rumor or is it the same one just coming from a different source?

These rumors have been the subject of reports and speculation for over a month. Just today Haaretz News first reported Bin Laden's capture than changed their report to "Pakistan Denies Bin Laden Capture." I heard on the WABC today's news it was a rumor started by Iran saying US caught him months ago and keep it under wraps.

Which seems like disimformation!

Rummy was in Pakistan this week. I thought OBL's capture could be the reason.

Iran has a vested interest in saying that "Osama has been captured and that it happened a long time ago" because it takes the focus off their status as the #2 Axis of Evil Country and their own internal domestic power struggles.

By focusing the US and worlds attention on Osama (on the lamb or in custody), they are trying to shift attention away from being destabilized and / or the next country to have their population liberated.

Here's the latest on the Osama bin Laden situation...


NEIN director Doug Hagmann has within the past 24 hours been in contact with the original source which had contacted him concerning the United States Special Operations Forces capture of an alQaeda HVT (High Value Target) within the borders of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The source refuses to deny that Osama bin Laden is the HVT we "snatch and grabbed" in the Islamic Republic Iran. The capture occured on or about 20 January, 2004. This source advises us that the original unsolicited information
provided is 100% accurate.

The capture of Husam al-Yemeni (Ansar al-Islam and Abu Zarqawi's lieutenant) occured on or about 15 January and preceeded the capture of the Iranian HVT
(Osama). The capture of Hasan Guhl occured on Thursday, 22 January, and post dates the Iranian HVT (Osama) capture.

These rumors have been circulating for the past two months.

Some think he's been caught, but they are waiting for a political opportunistic time to announce it.

Pesonally, I don't know how they could keep a conspiracy of that magnitude under their hat.

But at least once a week CNBC addresses the "Osama has been caught" rumors that effect the trading floor on a periodic basis.
