You're probably right, but I think it was the reaction of the American people to the Janet Jackson thing that made the bigwigs sit up and take notice of the other garbage that was hitting the airwaves.
LOL! Hardly! Most of the current crop of "corporate bigwigs" couldn't give a rat's rearend what is being sold, be it Q-Tips or human flesh, it's all the same to them.
Care for an example? Rupert Murdoch, that defender of the faith, turned down domestic distribution of The Passion of the Christ back last September. No matter what his PR folks said, he turned it down because he didn't think it would make enough m$ney to make it worth the effort. Well, he was bloody wrong and now it looks as though he snapped up the foreign distribution rights on the first day of showing.
For most of the corporate honchos it's money that drives their decision making process.
