Don't get me wrong re: Alison. It's not my place either to probe his personal life. His public life is fair game, though, and he made Alison part of his public life.

My observation re: Alison is really only that his show and hsi on-air persona has been notably different since Alison left him. He clearly lost his edge, at least it's clear to me. He should have taken himself out of his misery a while back, and tried to take care of his personal life.

To me, Stern is just doing his gimmick from 1992 or so - nothing new, nothing fresh, phoning it in, his heart isn't in it. The missing ingredient in his life is obvious to everyone who knows him, but may be a mystery to him.

I haven't listen to him in a long time .. but I do agree Alison was his world .. he should have spent more attention on his family life
