Well, "Blue_Ridge_Mtn_Geek" has come out in defense of Gore's daughter. So I guess he must be correct, she was 'only' 18 then, so I guess it's all ok now.

Karenna Gore Schiff is the Director of Community Affairs for the Association to Benefit Children. She is also a freelance writer, a term member of the Council on Foreign Relations, a John Whitehead Fellow of the Foreign Policy Association, a trustee of First Star (which promotes best practices in child welfare) and a member of the Board of Directors of Sanctuary for Families (which provides shelter and legal and clinical services to victims of domestic violence).
Karenna previously worked as an attorney at Simpson, Thacher and Bartlett. Before that, she served on the Gore 2000 campaign as a surrogate, spokesperson, and Chair of the National Youth Outreach effort. She continues to volunteer for political campaigns and advocate for issues such as child welfare, women's rights, and environmental protection. Her other work experience includes positions on the editorial staffs of Slate magazine in Redmond, Washington and El Pais newspaper in Madrid, Spain.
Karenna was born in Nashville, Tennessee in 1973. She graduated from Harvard University in 1995 and Columbia Law School in 2000. She and her husband, Andrew Schiff have two children.
