NO WAY the film could convey that?
Did you see the film?
I disagree with you. And I saw the film.
No pragmatism has not replaced The Canon of Scripture.
It has also not replaced Holy Spirit.
And IT CERTAINLY HAS NOT HINDERED Holy Spirit's
CAPACITY to use anything HE DESIRES TO USE for
THE KINGDOM.
And HE IS OBVIOUSLY using this film in dramatic ways to build up THE KINGDOM as well as
--as Christ said--"IF I BE LIFTED UP, I'LL DRAW ALL MEN UNTO ME."
THIS FILM LIFTS HIM UP.
HOLY SPIRIT USES IT TO DRAW THOSE WHO SEE IT TO HIS HEART, HIS SIDE, HIS SALVATION.
Throw rocks if you wish. I'd hate to throw rocks at anything God was using in such a way.

NOT SEEING IT?
THEN you will
MISS A BLESSING.
And that unnecessarily.
But your starchy theology will be as stiff and . . . whatever as ever so I guess you can feel quite smug and kosher about that.
Sigh.

I agree.
Have long felt that all these carping folks should go out and raise $50,000,000 and do it "right"
so the pharisees on the OTHER side of their pet petty distinctives could then throw rocks at THEIR PASSION.
SIGH.

I suppose you are one of those sorts who would also say . . .
"I Don't need to read a translation in a modern English version my kids and their peers could understand.
I read the King James."
sigh.

Just got back from seeing the movie... AGAIN. Is it perfect? Of course not. Does it further the Kingdom of God? Yes.
I'm a Christian FIRST, a Protestant a distant second. I'm proud to call Catholics my brethren.
And I find attempts to drive a wedge between fellow believers quite suspect. This article is in that category.

No. Such a film doesn't need to be made for that purpose.
But I suspect some people's lives might be enriched and their faith perhaps even strengthened to have a film made about the lives of those men including that incident.

Clearly you have as much experiential contact with the evidence as you have had with truck loads of moon dust.

It's just now dawning on me that this is an old thread I've already pontificated on.
Ah well.
Thanks for your comment.
The article, author and poster all need to be
Shrillery slapped verbally upside the head for this nonsense.
imho, of course.

gUESS i DON'T SEE THIS AS A PARTICULARLY FITTING THREAD to get into
Roman or any other group's heresies.
And, ANY GROUP OLDER THAN A YEAR AND A HALF will have
heresies.
However, it may take a mind turned on and open eyes and ears to catch them.

There is already more than one. I'd bet hundreds of thousands.
They tried so hard to kill this film before ti was even released. Hmmm.... Hughly recommended for adults. No kids. No kidding.
