Very cynical. I don't think there is a grand plan, beyond their plantation plan. Dole for votes. The 'rats don't think beyond that. The big picture is....there's no big picture. None.

I'd be very surprised if the leftist think-tanks (and maybe non-leftist ones too) haven't "wargamed" that scenario, to "determine optimal responses post-crisis", and I'd wager their "solutions" were pretty close to what I posted.

WRT to "grand plan", I don't think the typical leftie political animal thinks in those terms, and does in fact work in the "dole for votes" mode, but OTOH, I believe the the think-tanks *do* think in those terms, and gently steer their clientele (the politicians) in the direction they'd like to see them go.
