Why shouldn't they be saved?

Income taxes destroy a lot of jobs. Why not lower income taxes and raise a tariff?

Government has to get money from someplace and personally I'd rather pay more for imports than pay as much as I do in income taxes.

We've been losing old jobs ever since the creation of capitalism...and creating a lot more new ones . For some reason the American standard of living keeps getting higher and Americans keep getting fatter. Somebody is doing something right.
