ROSEVILLE - The City Council has given final approval to an agreement calling for annexation and development of 3,162 acres of farmland west of Roseville.

Developers WestPark Associates and Signature Properties plan to build 8,390 homes and apartments, a half-dozen schools, a technology business park and shopping centers in the area west of Fiddyment Road and north of Baseline Road.

The council voted 4-1 for the development agreement Monday, with Councilman Richard Roccucci casting the dissenting vote.

My guess is that the esteemed Councilman didn't get the proper amount of "campaign contributions". Developers in the Roseville area have a long and well documented history of loading up preferred candidates with resources.
