Kodak's been shrinking the workfoce there for over 15 years now. All the BS state projects in the world won't turn that place around without real, live businesses moving in on their own voliton.

Empire State Development Corp is a joke -- they hand out a few goodies to the politically connected and crow about a few dozen jobs that get shuffled from one place to another. They cannot possibly "fix" the endemic problems of upstate NY, which has been on a downward spiral since the 1940s.

Real economic progress comes from the private sector alone.

I left Rochester in 1998. I only go back to see my Mom when the mosquito's are out. Mayor Johnson ruined that city. It is laden with crime. The inner city deteriorated so much that the "Inner City" has moved to the suburbs.

Unemployment is over 9%.
