KABUL (Reuters) - Time is running out for Osama bin Laden, the U.S. military said Wednesday, as American and Pakistani forces step up operations against al Qaeda and Taliban militants along the Afghan-Pakistan frontier.
In the latest statement of growing confidence that al Qaeda's mastermind and other senior militant figures will be captured or killed soon, the U.S. military in Afghanistan spoke of "renewed urgency" in hunting down key terror figures.

GO GET HIM!
To: republicanwizard
I have held Osama in the shed in my backyard for almost a year now. I'll be glad to turn him over as soon as they say the time is right. My neighbors are complaining about the smell.

Do you think OBL could be found this week?
To: Dubya's fan
If he is found this week, you can expect the consequences to be enormous. (Although if I were Bush, I'd try to keep it a secret we captured Osama, until, let's say, October 29, 2004.)
To: republicanwizard
a captured or dead Osama coupled with a defeated AWB, a REAL S.S. privtization plan showcased during the campaign(not that medicare bs business) and an acknowledgemnt that his terrible amnesty plan will be ditched and replaced with something that emphasizes enforcement of the law and deportation is a reciepe for re-election.

Not to rain on the parade, but we've been hearing this since
around this time last year.
Enough of the wishful thinking. Show me the corpse. Or at least some tall, bearded homeless looking bum getting checked for lice and DNA.

IMHO President Bush will never keep it secret. The exception would be security reasons.
To: republicanwizard
I have no confidence that voters will keep Bush's job approval ratings boosted much longer than they did with Saddam's capture. The media will see to it.

Oh, Don Corleone, I didn't know you still were alive. I think Bush should have a meeting with the Democrats and put oranges on the table. Remember the oranges?
To: Don Corleone
And he needs a wartime consolieri. I think Rove is a good consolieri.
To: republicanwizard
If they have to keep talking about how close they are to him, then I don't believe that they are close at all.

Personally I think all of this talk is to get him scared and move, thereby giving up his position. I also think that's what the talk of a Spring push is about.
Of course, their probably really could be a push if the former does't work.

I Beg of you - PLEASE vote Democrat this November!
To: republicanwizard
Lots and lots of verbage going on about this.. Getting excited now.

Exactly!

If Bush catches OBL, he'll take NY and NJ.
To: smokinleroy
Could we put his face in the crowd behind Kerry at one of his New Hampshire victory speech? I'd laugh my head off.
To: freeperfromnj
Aw hell, if he can find Osama, this economy will take off like a rocket at liftoff time. In that case, Bush will probably sweep Massachusetts too.
