moreopver, it is about a statist power grab by extremists.
it is about using the government as a hammer to reshape society (beyond the proper authority of law) into their own image.

"Dear Mary, Vice-President Cheney, your father, recently said he would support adding anti-gay prejudice to the US constitution, making you and millions of other Americans second-class citizens...Maybe Mary hasn't spoken out in favor of this because she doesn't believe in it. She probably also understands that the contention of homosexual activists, as state above, is a load of horse-hockey!
