I have never seen 30-.06 marketed as armor piercing/defeating. (Hands clapped to sides of head) I'm so confused.

I have never seen 30-.06 marketed as armor piercing/defeating. There is such a thing. 7.62x51 as well, IIRC. Of course almost any 30-06/.308/.223 will defeat many vests, certainly FMJ practice ammo will, since most vests are designed against the most likely threat, that is handgun rounds.
