Illegal Senator Lousenberg (D-NJ) is now regaling us with his anti-gun wisdom.

Debate has started, should this be moved to breaking?

An interesting aspect of the legislation (S1805) is as follows (from the text of the Bill):
SEC. 2. FINDINGS; PURPOSES. (a) FINDINGS- The Congress finds the following: (1) Citizens have a right, protected by the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution, to keep and bear arms.
Better put some ice on that! Hope it passes, just for the citation.

Lautenburg is stumbling through his speech like a drunk in the dark. I think the senators use these extended quorum calls to snort a few lines.

Now he is trying to debunk the 'suing car dealerships for drunk driving' argument by comparing it to DEFECTIVE Fords.

Sweet! I read through it how many times now? And missed that tidbit every time. I guess I need remedial reading comprehension classes. :-)

Airplanes, child's cribs and electric shavers are different from guns becuase GUNS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE DANGEROUS!

WOW! Check out that huge, cool gun shop photo on the floor of the Senate!
Regarding the John Muhammad/Lee Malvo killings, I have a rule:
Never let anything done by an Islamic, America-hating radical and an illegal alien be considered as a reason to penalize or to restrain the rights of law-abiding American citizens.

Lautenburg called gun dealers "dispensers of murder."

Hey, Lautenburg, by your logic, Boeing should be partly liable for 9-11.

He also said they SOLD it under the table instead of having it stolen.
I'd be calling my lawyer if I was them.

Lautenberg just said the manufacturers can be protected so they can continue to supply arms for the military, that in response to the fear that lawsuits would render citizens unable to obtain arms!
