[history]
Will Republicans see an apology or a retraction after the scurrilous charges made by the Democrats concerning President Bush's National Guard service ("Bush's Guard 'Accuser' Admits Faulty Memory," Feb. 15)?
Don't hold your breath.
Retired Lt. Col. John Calhoun should have laid to rest any questions about the president's service when he came forward to say he remembered serving with Bush.

I strongly believe that President Bush has a lot more fans in New York and New Jersey than skeptics want to believe. I think that if he catches OBL he will have their loyal support.

Super-Tuesday primaries in the battleground states will bury McAwful.
Even Dems are burning out on this Bush-hatred.
The strategy has already beginning to turn from inciting anger to fearmongering.

The 'Rats haven't put this topic down yet...Terry McAuliffe, and Max Cleland both took additional shots at GWB over the weekend.
McAuliffe just foamed the same old accusation over again , Max (Grenade Chucker)Cleland demanded that a "Document every serviceman can produce" be released, just so happens thet the Guard doesn't use such a document.
This is going to be a street fight of a campaign, the 'Pubs better pick up a baseball bat and go for the knees soon or this stuff will stick.
Kerry is vulnerable to his post Vietnam treason, his anti-millitary voting record, beat him over the head with it !!!

I always read the letters in the NY post and the NY Daily News. Surprisingly alot of them are very pro-Bush.

Mainstream journalists should have realized all these points from day one, and known that the story had no legs. That is, if they were being truly objective. Unfortunately, they're mostly not, and points like these get in the way of their agenda.

I add my "thanks" for this thread. This must represent the overwhelming majority of letters the NYPost received on the subject.
One of Rush's callers made a great point yesterday, that her college age daughter and friends think Kerry is a wrinkled up oldtimer rehashing ancient history that means nothing to voters in their age group, and has no relevance to the 21st century. Kerry's over the top Viet Nam mentions just might backfire on him.

These letters to the editor are much better than the ones in the Austin Un-American Ultra Liberal Non-Statesman. Living near the San Francisco of Texas, more letters to the editor are Bush bashing at its worst.
As far as the younger generation is concerned about Kerry, they think of him as a fake. My 18 year old and her friends all intend to vote this year. Every one intends to vote for Bush.

The strategy has already beginning to turn from inciting anger to fearmongering. Good... keep it up, McAwful, you fool. People will grow old of Kerry bashing Bush yet saying not one thing about what his soulutions are to the existing problems.
And while I have your attention, did I tell you I served in Viet Nam back in 69-70? Yep, I was there and saw jkl;g;talkfj, I was awarded three purpklj kl;jkl jtkjaklvjk for my extreme bravery. Then, while facing 137 Viet Cong barehanded and alone one dark night, kl;j jk jkja ouopuoa, yadda yadda yadda.............

But Democrats don't apologize.I think I can explain why they don't apologize from the historical record:
Al Gore, their last "standard bearer" claimed Love Story was written about him and Tipper. The famous line from that book was something like: Love means never having to say you are sorry.
Democrats claim there is equality amongst Democrats (but not amongst the Wascally Wepublicans.
Therefore, being a Democrat means never having to say you're sorry.
