He's a leader by coming out in favor of an amendment he didn't author and that was referred to the House Committee on the Judiciary nearly one year ago on May 21st, 2003? Sounds like a follower. Musgrave is the leader.

Exactly. If conservatives, who previously have criticized the president over his actions, continue to criticize this latest effort, then they prove they will never be content, no matter what the administration does.

Sink, this action this morning is exactly what I hoped I'd see when I snapped at you so abruptly on a thread on this topic a few weeks ago (remember?). I don't think authorship is relevant here...only standing foursquare behind the amendment.

He has laid it on the line on this issue, and I think for him it is a winner. As far as 'civil unions,' we'll see how that plays out. I'm not sure where I stand on that yet.
