Please don't be asinine. Under the Constitution, the President has absolutely no part in the amendment process, other than what he is doing right now. He can lend his voice and support, but that is all. And if you don't understand the importance of timing in the political process, then you have a problem. If Bush had come out for the amendment earlier, he would have been accused of creating a problem that didn't exist, just for political gain. Now that the issue has become so visible (thanks to the libs themselves), Bush has a firm foundation of public support to fight for this amendment.

Mayor Gavin Newsom should be given more time to prove that homosexual sex in the human sewer system results in a baby and procreation of the species.

Good point. Also, I was just thinking, can you imagine what would have happened if Davis survived the recall election? No doube he would have made sure that the marriages that have already happened would have been recorded as legal by now. At least Arnold's administration has said they are going to return the licenses and not officially record them, because the forms were 'modified'. This will make it much easier to 'undo' the mess that the mayor of SF has caused in our state.

He knew that Musgrave was going to introduce this last May. He could have come out at the same time, had her at the WH for the ceremony, and announced that he was in full support of the language of her amendment and that he'd work to get it approved in the House and Senate as quickly as possible. That's all I'm saying.
