I have mixed feelings about this one. Most people have become very tamed, and would hesitate to man their gun. But, if things got bad enough, I think there is enough memory of the good days of America that we could have quite a bit of people fight.
Half of us are supporting the UN.
I thought that during the American Revolution, 1/3 of the people were British Loyalist, 1/3 of the people didn't care either way, and 1/3 supported the Rebellion. We might have a similar breakdown of numbers today.
But we won't need the guns, that half has us defeated, go and read the stories about the voting machines in San Diego at FReepers regular news, then weep, we knew it would happen, but did it have to be so soon?
Yes, the commies said they would have a bloodless revolution in America, and they have just about succeeded.
I work with technology, and anyone that knows me could tell you that I love new stuff and new gadgets. But these voting machines make me ill. There is no audit trail, no paper record of your vote, and no visibility to the data or the source code of the voting machines. The machines are also notoriously unsecure. Basically all you do is push a button and hope for the best. Even the elections departments have no way to recount or validate the election. All of the power of the election is in the hands of a private company that is accountable to no one. It doesn't take a genius to realize how screwed up that is. I agree with you Ruth, these machines are the end of any semblance of a representative republic that we might have had left.
And yes, if Kerry wins, get ready to get on your knees and lick the jackboots of the UN.
Bloodless my hiney!! Wonder how many other real patriots [men and women] I could get to join me.
