February 24, 2004 -- WASHINGTON - The Pentagon has dispatched the elite commando force that hunted down Saddam Hussein to Afghanistan for a new operation aimed at getting Osama bin Laden, officials said yesterday. Military sources confirmed that members of the shadowy Task Force 121, the unit that conducted the high-tech search for Saddam and his henchmen, have recently begun operating in the remote mountainous region along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border where bin Laden and key al Qaeda and Taliban fugitives are believed to be hiding. The Task Force is made up of highly trained Delta and SEAL commandos, as well as CIA paramilitary operators. It operates outside normal military channels.

Nice map of Yellowstone and other pages that answer questions and give recent activity.

Must say this is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. We used to go there when we lived in Jackson every week or two, it never got old~~

Good news and bad news. I figured out how to create a seismogram from raw data on the date and time [or any other] from this MOD station in CA. The bad news: nothing on it but a straight line for that parameter. A 5.6 WOULD have been seen on my seismograms as I used every parameter of waveform for both regional and distant settings.

Even changing the "amplitude scaling" to emphasize even small quakes, the 1903 UTC shows no unique event on 2-6-04

Hmmmmm. A straight line? No random noise? Interesting.

I'm concerned about the strange thing the dog did in the night...

You can change the amplitude scale to show all sqiggles and background noise or increase the number to show a straight line with very small events amplified as a deviation below the line. A big one would really show up. I've tried all amplitudes and directional [vertiucal e-w, and n-s ] parameters. No event picked up at 1903 UTC 2-6-04.

Nice work!!!

Hmmmmmmmmmm.

There's a lot of conflicting info. This Mitch fellow has e-mails and tapes of telephone conversations with USGS personel admitting there was an event, but insisting it wasn't an earthquake, but rather a mine blast.

Is the straight line straighter than it should be?

Coast to Coast AM is coming on and they said that Steven Quayle (sp?) will be on this hour to talk about the ELk.

Ok, so in your opinion it's highly unlikely that this record would be altered?

There really was no EQ?

Why would this USGS person come up with the mine shaft story?

"Is there any point to which you would wish to draw my attention?"

"To the curious incident of the dog in the night-time."

"The dog did nothing in the night-time."

"That was the curious incident," remarked Sherlock Holmes.

I suspect the data may have been purged of any useful information...

THE +180 mark is 1903 UTC 02/06/04:

Note the lack of relative motion compared to the surrounding times. Def NO shake event. This is raw data so an explosion would have registered.

Assuming the data is valid, and actually from that time period.

True. Garbage in garbage out. We need to be sure the exact time and date of the event.

Even then, we have no assurance the data they say is from that time isn't from some other seismically bland time.
